Windows Server 2012 Survey

InformationWeek just released results from a survey of 973 IT profs regarding Windows 8 (now called Windows Server 12). With an expected release date in late summer, WS12 is an OS for PCs, servers and mobile devices. Microsoft hopes to take market share from Apple and Google – both of which eclipse them in the mobile device segment.

Positive comments about the OS include improved life migration, Fibre Channel support, admin console and virtual networking. The most common unpopular change is the Metro-style UI.

Almost half of survey respondents say they have no upgrade plans for the new OS.
